The History of
One Fine Day
One Fine Day is basically my own personal love story! I come from an entrepreneurial family and always knew I wanted to do something on my own, I just never knew in what industry! After getting my degree in finance and real estate from Indiana University, I moved back home and began working in commercial real estate. About 4 years into my career, I met a boy and that’s when the story gets good!
Blake and I met on Match.com and I knew from our first date that he was a keeper (he’ll talk about my “buddy hug” – it’s one of his favorite stories to tell). We were engaged after 8 months and married 11 months later. It was during my own wedding planning process that One Fine Day was born. My wedding dress was very important to me (anyone else tear out pictures from bridal magazines when they were little?) and I wanted something different and something that felt like me!
I found my dress with just my mom on a “scouting” trip. On our way home, we got to talking about the idea of offering area brides quality dresses, in a pretty boutique, with knowledgeable staff and thoughtful customer service! I developed a business plan, talked to designers, completely renovated our current building and 8 months later, One Fine Day opened.
When brides ask if I like what I do, I always say “this may sound corny, but this is what I feel I was meant to do with my life”. I felt that way when our doors first opened and I still feel that way almost 7 years later!

We are big believers in showing our brides a curated selection of beautiful dresses from designers who love brides as much as we do. We don’t believe in over-crowding, showing you anything we don’t personally love and we absolutely want you to touch the dresses. They like being told they’re pretty!
Our bridal consultants love working with their brides! We are here to help you select wedding dresses to try on, help you into the dresses, show your family and friends and help you accessorize your favorite wedding dress! We know the stock so well that after we hear what your likes and dislikes are about a dress, we can show you some surprising options that you may love!
Finding your dress is both a head and a heart decision. We are here to help you make that decision and create an amazing and memorable experience with those you love!
Our wedding dresses take 4-6 months to come in, but don’t worry if you need a gown sooner than that! Our designers offer rush options on their dresses and we also have a whole side to our boutique devoted to off-the-rack dresses!
We love working with the biggest and best names in bridal like Essense of Australia and Hayley Paige. Each of our designers was thoughtfully chosen for their design aesthetic, craftsmanship and love for all things bridal. We travel 6 times a year to different markets where we buy our dresses and accessories! Our special order side of the boutique has dresses that start at $1,200 and go up to $5,000 (did you know 90% of our store is under $2,500?!). We also have our sample side which are dresses you buy off-the-rack, as-is and those are almost all under $1,000!
We are the only locally-owned boutique to offer in-house alterations! We have 5 seamstresses on staff and your fittings are done at the boutique, the alterations work is done at the boutique and we fully press and steam your dress when your alterations are complete! Our goal is to make this an easy and stress-free experience for you!
Alterations are a separate cost and we’ll give you an estimate at your first fitting. Your first fitting takes place 3 months before the wedding with your last fitting occurring the week of the wedding. No worries if you don’t have 3 months before your wedding, we’ll absolutely make sure your dress is fitted for you!
